Tenjou Utena - Revolutionary Girl Utena

Costume completed - March 17, 2005

Utena was one of the first few animes I began to watch. The storyline was very good, and the music was catchy and beautiful. I love the spunk personality of Utena and sword fighting scenes in the series. This costume is her school uniform and I later did the duelist version.

Top Jacket - I used my Tifa AC top as a pattern, and did the rest of the jacket from reference pictures. I used double sided red bias tape for the outline. The buttons I used were painted with a golden yellow. I made the jacket close using working buttons. Craft foam was used to create the triangle design on the collar and stuck it on with fabri-tac.

Shorts - These were red sport shorts that were bought off e-bay.

Socks/Shoes - These were found at a thrift store and the shoes were altered. I think they were originally meant for a type of bowling shoe.

Ring - I found a similar shape in the ring at Claire's and used acrylic paint for the design and sealed it.

Total spent - $89.77
