Tifa Lockhart - Final Fantasy VII-AC

Costume completed - Jan. 9, 2005

I was way too excited when I found out that Squareenix was making a full length movie sequel to FF7. I was so hyped about it that I had to do Tifa's outfit from it.

Top - I used my Tifa Nibelheim vest as a guide to make this. I used the same PVC leather material that I used for my Squall Jacket that was bought from Sy Fabrics.  I used a white zipper at first, but once more photos came out of the movie, I decided to change it to a silver one. I had to make a white t-shirt to wear underneath the top. The only placed I sewed to connect the two was around the armholes.

Bottom - My first pair of pants. Though this wasn't made like a true pair with a working zipper in the front.. The was also made using PVC leather.

Front flap - This is also PVC leather. The buttons were old that I found in a jar that my mom has where she keeps a bunch of buttons at. I was lucky to find just six of them. I painted these over using acrylic since they were originally a dark green. I made the pouches on the front workable. This was sewed to the pants.

Back Skirt - This was one of the toughest part of the costume. It was mainly time consuming to get the pleats for the bottom half of the skirt. This took a lot of book stacking since this fabric was really fragile with an iron. I made two sets of them mainly for the front and back. The back top flap was just a simple square shape. To make the back part of the costume look more smooth, I wore black athletic spandex shorts and sewed the back flap to the inside of the short and sewed the shorts to the inside of the pants. This gave it a smooth look on the back waist.

Belt - This item was bought from a thrift store. I tried to pick a belt with a similar buckle. I made sure this showed on the left side

Earrings - The same earrings used from my original Tifa.

Gloves - These are the same leather gloves used from my Rinoa as Squall costume.

Ribbon - A simple pink ribbon.

Shoes - These were originally boots bought at a thrift store. I did some altering using scissors and thread to fold over around the top opening and used black and white acrylic to paint the line designs.

Total spent - $87.30
