Costume completed - February 1, 2007

I was introduced to this manga some months before the anime started to air in Japan. I liked Lenalee most of all especially with her innocence weapon, the Dark Boots. I planned on doing a few outfits and versions of her boots, and this one is the first uniform seen.

Jacket - This was made from black and white PVC leather and lined with black. I put a hidden zipper in the middle so I could easily put the jacket on and off. I used a thin strip of the PVC leather for the dotted lines on the front. On the sleeve collars, I sewed along the outside with black thread then I went over the thread with black fabric paint for the black outline to look more bold. The buttons were made using regular buttons bought, but the shape wasn't quite right so I used paperclay to fix that. Before the clay dried, I made a line down the middle for the black line. The other buttons with the black design were made the same way. I used acrylics to paint them.

Skirt - This is made from the same material from the jacket. For the white part in the skirt, I used a bit of elastic on the inside to have that bunched up look on the sides.

Crest - This was made from craft foam and black and silver acrylic paint. I had to use a very thin brush to paint the black designs on the crest. I used a pin back to pin it to the jacket.

Boots - These are the same boots I used for my Freya costume. They were purchased at Electrique Boutique.
