Haku - Naruto

Costume completed - January 31, 2008

Haku is one of my most loved characters in Naruto. He only appears for a very short time in one arc in the series, but he has a big impact on the series main character that helps him grow. This is the first male character, or crossplay, I've done. But it is something I can get away with it since Haku looks female.

Sweater and Pants - These items were made by hand using the same material. I had to sew the lines individually on the wrong side in order to get the ribs out on the right side of the material.

Kimono - This was made by hand. I used an off-white material for the lining on the kimono.

Obi - I divided this into two different parts: the part around the waist and the tail. A zipper was used for the waist and velcro was used to attach the tail to the back of the obi.

Shoes - The shoes were found at a thrift store and the straps were painted with acrylics.

Mask - The mask was made using model magic and acrylic paint. I used this tutorial on cosplay.com.

Bun - This was made using by cutting the fabric in a circled shaped in and a piece of elastic wrapped in the same material to tie into my hair. The beaded piece was made using various types of beads, wire, and acrylic paint.

Needles - These were the thinnest knitting needles that I could find and were painted with sliver acrylic paint.

Hair beads - I used the same cardboard found in this clothes hanger, added paperclay around the top and bottom edges and painted it with acrylics.

Headband - This was purchased off e-bay.

Total spent - $51.33
